Dentistry

From the very first veterinary consultation, we stress the importance of oral hygiene. Indeed, regular maintenance of the teeth through brushing, a suitable diet or the use of chewing flaps can often limit tartar build-up.

This tartar is of course responsible for bad breath, but above all for tooth loosening, often accompanied by painful gingivitis for your pet. This can even lead to a dental abscess, which needs to be treated urgently by our veterinary team.

It's also important not to neglect this care, as excessive bacterial proliferation in your pet's mouth can lead to heart or lung infections.

At the Monaco-Fontvieille clinic, scaling is carried out under light anaesthetic to minimize risks. Scaling is performed using an ultrasonic device that completely removes tartar plaque. It is systematically followed by polishing with a special device that prolongs the effect of scaling and gives teeth a radiant shine.
